"Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep"

The images on this page are of healthy, happy, loved kids. They are full of life - and very much alive.

Not all parents and families are this fortunate.

Sometimes, kids die.

There is a thoughtful and healing organization called "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" (NILMDTS)
that is comprised of volunteer photographers who specialize in bereavement photography.

Why would any parent want such images? Parents who choose to have their child photographed report that it helps their family at this extraordinarily difficult time in their lives by capturing intimate, artistic images of those first and final moments that the parents get to spend with their child - either just before or after their child has died.

The NILMDTS volunteer photographers provide tangible memories to parents and families at a time of great sadness and chaotic emotion.

I am registered as a volunteer photographer in the SE Wisconsin area, on call to assist those in need. All it takes is a phone call to set things in motion.
